I hate to say it, but DAMN, I can't stand a lot of them. I have a few smoker friends and I'm happy to report, they don't have that funky smoker smell on them....well let me take that back lol. Maybe a few of them do, but most of them don't.
But OMG....at work my desk is located at the front near the lobby and outside exit door where the smokers stand. So when they walk through the door, they bring all their smoke with them. And some of them is soooo damn funky. Its the worst freaken smell. The smell lingers around my desk for a good ten minutes before it finally goes away.
I suffer from migraines and smelling cigarette smoke is a huge trigger. I'm at work right now, and my head is slowly starting to bother me because someone just came in from smoking.
I hate to sound so harsh toward smokers, but I just don't understand how they can jump into such a nasty habit. Out of all the other habits, drinking alcohol, popping prescription pills, or even picking your nose...to me it seems like smoking is the worst habit anyone could have. Most smokers don't have any respect for others either. They don't bother to try and air off before they walk through a door, or walk a distance away from the door. Most of them don't even properly put out a cigarette. They just toss it in the grass or street. That really pisses me off.
When I look at old movies or people tell me how it use to be years ago where smokers could smoke anywhere and anytime....OMG I could imagine dealing with something like that. Thank God researchers found out that second hand smoke kills or we'd all be dead.
I just want to deliver a message to the smokers: Please have respect for non smokers. I understand that its an addicting habit, but because its a habit you should be aware of how your habit effects others around you. If you go outside to smoke, would it kill you to take just a little longer walk to air off? Please don't walk back into a building while your blowing smoke out your mouth then hop on the elevator. Just have respect is all I'm asking. Thank You!
I have one friend that smokes that I can actually hang around and chat with as she smokes. She has respect for my health. She always make sure I don't stand in the direction of the wind so that the smoke doesn't blow all in my face, and if she see's the smoke is coming my direction she will move me before I can even open my own mouth up to say something. She also doesn't smell like a smoker. Now I'm not sure if that has to do with the type of cigarettes she smokes but I never smell it on her, not even in her hair lol. So I want to say thanks to her for being so respectful.
Now for my other friends that do stink, YALL need to fix that mess LOL! You know who you are. Eww just as I typed that line, one of my (stinky smoker co-workers) just walked passed. I think he is going to go light up. OH CRAP!!! That means in 6 more minutes he will walk back through the door smelling like a DAMN ASH TRAY! And I'll have to endure every freaken moment of that smell. GOD help me.
Anyway to try and end on a good note: Have a good weekend my fellow readers. Stay tuned for next week.
